PromptLikeEngineer vs PromptHub (2026)
Both keep your prompts versioned in one place. The real differences are where you can reach them from, and price. PromptHub is a fine tool and the cheaper one for a single user; for five people our flat Team price is lower, though its Team plan includes evaluations and CI/CD that ours does not.

Where PromptHub wins
Price. Billed the same way, PromptHub Pro is cheaper: $12/mo against our $19, or $9/mo against our $15 billed yearly, about 37–40% less. If your prompts live in a browser tab next to the rest of your work and you never reach for them from a terminal or an agent, PromptHub does the job for less.
Team workflow. Evaluations, CI/CD pipelines and team permissions are part of its Team plan. If several people iterate on production prompts together, that is a real feature set.
Free AI help. Its Free plan includes 10 prompt enhancements a month; ours includes 3 AI Improves. If you mostly want AI rewrites on a budget, that matters.
Where PromptLikeEngineer wins
It is reachable from where the prompt gets used. A prompt saved in a web app still has to be copied into your terminal or Claude Code session. With PromptLikeEngineer the same versioned prompt comes out of the CLI and the MCP server, so Claude Code can fetch it by name without you pasting anything:
ple get "code review" --var diff="$(git diff)" | claude
claude mcp add promptlike -- npx -y promptlike-mcpPrivate on Free. Free prompts are private by default. On PromptHub's Free plan every prompt is public.
Testing against your real agent. ple loop runs each variant through the agent command you already use and shows the real output before you keep a version. That is a Pro feature, and part of what the price gap pays for.
No lock-in in the other direction. Export stays open on every plan: JSON, an AGENTS.md section, or a Claude Skill (SKILL.md).
Team price. PromptHub Team is priced per user, so five people cost $100/mo ($75 billed yearly). PromptLikeEngineer Team is a flat $39/mo ($32.50 billed yearly) for you plus up to five members. PromptHub's Team includes evaluations and CI/CD pipelines that ours does not, so compare the features you will actually use.
Be honest about the price gap
Billed the same way, our Pro costs about 1.6 times PromptHub's Pro ($19 against $12 monthly, $15 against $9 billed yearly). If price decides it for one person and you don't need terminal or agent access, PromptHub is the more defensible choice. The gap only makes sense if copying prompts between a browser, a terminal and Claude Code is the friction you are trying to remove. For five people the arithmetic flips: see the Team rows in the table.
