Create a project (projects group related prompts, like repositories), then add a prompt. If you want to see the workflow before writing anything, use "Add samples" on the welcome screen: it adds three example prompts you can edit or delete.

Yes, private by default on every surface. A prompt is only visible to others if you explicitly set it (and its project) to public. Public prompts get a shareable page you can link to, including links pinned to a specific version.

How does versioning work?

The editor works like a code editor: Save keeps a draft, Commit creates a new version with a title and description, like a git commit. Free keeps the last 3 versions per prompt; Pro and Team keep unlimited history with rollback.

Can I use variables inside prompts?

Yes. Write {{variable_name}} anywhere in a prompt and PLE detects it. When copying, you can fill the variables first, so one template serves many situations.

How do I use a prompt from the terminal?

Install the CLI with `npm i -g promptlike`, run `ple login` once, then `ple list`, `ple show "title"`, or `ple copy "title"` to put a prompt on your clipboard. The editor also shows the exact CLI commands for the prompt you are viewing.

What does AI Improve do?

It rewrites your prompt sections (role, context, instruction) to be tighter and more explicit, using Gemini. If your prompt is too vague, it asks 1-3 clarifying questions instead of guessing. Available on Pro and Team.

Loop is multi-round iteration: it generates pattern-based variants (concise, structured, chain-of-thought) and, with ple loop --exec, runs each one through your own agent so real outputs pick the winner. Each round's winner is committed as a version; Improve is the one-shot flavor. Both draw from the same token quota.

How does token usage work?

AI features consume tokens from your monthly quota: 1M on Pro, 3M pooled across the team on Team. The quota resets every month. You can see usage and remaining balance under Billing in the dashboard.

What if I run out of tokens mid-month?

Buy a MicroBoost: a one-time $3 top-up that adds 600K tokens on top of your quota. Boost tokens never expire and are used automatically after your monthly quota runs out.

How does Team collaboration work?

A Team owner invites up to 5 members to a project with a role (admin, editor, or viewer). Members inherit the owner plan limits inside that project, and AI usage is drawn from the shared pool with a per-member audit trail.

Share your invite link from the dashboard. For each friend who signs up through it, you get one month of Pro free, stacked on top of whatever you already have.

What happens if I cancel or downgrade?

You keep paid features until the end of the period you paid for, then move to Free. Nothing is ever deleted: every prompt, project and version stays readable, copyable and exportable (JSON export works on every plan). Over the Free limits you cannot create new prompts, projects or version commits until you trim down or upgrade again, but your data is never locked in.
